In addition to local basic GAB workshops, I’m adding workshops on variations such as writing a letter of appreciation, writing a holiday letter, etc. I’ll soon be launching an online GAB class so geography won’t be a barrier for eager participants.
I am currently teaching GAB classes through the Pacific Grove Library. My company offers personal coaching, professional editing, book design and layout, publishing and printing, marketing materials and social media blog/website set-up. I provide a free consultation to discuss your project: what you have, what you want, and how we get there: who does what, what it will cost and how long it will take. I have published over 100 books since 1983. I love my work!

Starting a class January 2017. I run small groups out of my home or one of the student’s homes limited to 4–6 people. I’m open to someone gathering together people and I will come to your home, with a reduced fee for the host/coordinator.
Having given 50+ GAB workshops, many of them one day experiences, for men and women, and as a long time clinical psychologist, what I offer are themes with a psychological focus. They are therapeutic although not therapy. Many people come multiple times because each workshop is distinct. Participating gives you a chance to be part of a community, enhance your well being, create a legacy, and stimulate your brain. Please join us!
I teach Guided Autobiography both in public classes and private groups. I also teach legacy writing and practices such as memoir, legacy letters (ethical wills), intergenerational philanthropy plans and family mission statements and mottos. I am passionate about the power of our personal stories and the creation of legacy. I founded Wellfleet Circle to help others tell and share their stories and preserve and share legacy.
I have worked with several groups of women religious (Sisters of Mercy) who have been very receptive and enthusiastic about what GAB brings to their sense of community. I think GAB is very valuable for them and would encourage others to reach out to other women's communities (and even men's!) I am also leading a group of lay people at Mercy Center. Both have been very enriching for me!

I help parents and grandparents write or record their life stories so all generations of their families know they belong, have been heard, and will be remembered. GAB is one method I use to inspire my Storytellers to remember stories that express their beliefs, values, and life lessons.

The GAB principles are thoroughly embedded in my work as a specialist in ethical wills and letters of intent. The same principles—of presenting a narrow doorway through which to explore the largest questions of your life in a safe and creative way—are evident in the materials I have developed for individuals and families to express themselves and connect to each other: The Wealth of Your Life: A Step-by-StepGuide for Creating Your Ethical Will, Life Legacy Cards and the Life Legacy Toolkit. The website has more information on these materials, as well as listings for workshops and presentations.

I have been teaching GAB classes continuously since 2010. I teach my GAB classes at community colleges, retirement communities, and retirement or other older adult organizations in the Puget Sound area. I now offer GAB I, GAB II, and as of Spring 2017, GAB III classes. I have developed GAB II and GAB III as writing skills classes organized around the concept of using weekly themes to write life stories and maintaining the Birren structure of one half of the class devoted to sharing stories and providing peer feedback.
I have been successfully teaching GAB classes at a local thriving Senior Center and welcome all inquiries for bringing this wonderful opportunity to your organization, church, club or dining room table! Let's discuss the possibilities - and give each other the gift of becoming enthusiastic Storycatchers (as author Christina Baldwin loves to say)!

I lead GAB workshop series in my home, in the classroom, and online (my online participants come from across Canada and the US). For private sessions, I take enquiries, make a waitlist and, when numbers warrant, we vote on a time that works best for all. In addition to GAB1, I’ve developed a GAB2 curriculum (inspired by the Birren Center’s GAB2 syllabus), where we delve more deeply into writing memoir, and explore our experience of some of the inner forces driving behaviour.
